Brexit Vote and Market Woes
Great opportunity for Selective Buys by Prudent Fund Managers!
Stock markets hate uncertainty so it is no surprise that it was a rough
trading day as far as headlines and indexes shedding value. As I write, the
Dow Jones was down by over 571 points. The S&P TSX was down by over
324 points in the first few minutes but ended the trading day down
239 points.
But there is always opportunity.
You can be sure that your fund/portfolio managers prepared for Brexit
vote results and have an opportunity for selectively buying stocks of
excellent companies - on sale today. Actual results will show in a few
months as to how the professional fund/portfolio managers did.
The thing to remember is fundamental truths:
1. Do not take on risks you cannot afford to take. Most of my clients
have only 'serious money'to invest - no fun money they can afford to
lose.
2. The richest people are happier to get moderate but consistent results
rather than chase 'hot funds' or chase 'dream scenarios' that take bigger
hits in volatile markets.
