 When we use than, the adjetive is
comparative
 When we use as, the adjetive is in the simple
form.
 NEARLY AS – AS
 Peter is nearly as tall as john.
 SLIGHTLY – THAN
 John is sightly taller than Peter.
 NOT QUITE AS – AS
 Peter is not quite as tall as John
 A BIT – THAN
 John is a bit taller than Peter.
 ALMOST AS MUCH – AS*
 Peter is almost as much taller as John
* Only with “almost as muach – as”, we use
comparative.
 AS – AS
 Peter is as tall as John.
 NOT ANY – THAN
 Peter is not any taller than John
 NO – THAN
 Peter is no taller than John.
 REPETITION OF ADJETIVES
