I am a full time professional martial arts instructor specialising in Filipino Martial Arts. I hold 9th
Degree Grandmaster certification in the Cacoy Doce Pares Eskrima System (the first appointed
European Grandmaster - Awarded in 2011) and 10th Degree Grandmasters Certification in the
Original San Miguel Eskrima Spada Y Daga System (Awarded in 2014). I am a personal student
of Supreme Grandmaster Ciriaco Cacoy Canete and Grandmaster Federico Mendoza Jr. of the
World San Miguel Eskrima Organization in the Philippines. At the 82nd CDP Anniversary held on
11th January 2014 I was awarded 9th Degree Black Belt (Grandmaster) in Pangamot (Filipino
Unarmed Combat Systems) by SGM Cacoy Canete and SGM Richard Bustilo.
I am the UK & European representative and Chief Instructor for the World San Miguel Eskrima
Organisation under Grandmaster Federico Mendoza Jr. and the UK & European Chief Instructor
for Cacoy Doce Pares Eskrima UK.
I have been involved in the martial arts since 1971 and was among the first group of martial
artists to move from non-contact karate to full contact training this was the very start of
Kickboxing in the UK in 1978/79 I began training with the legendary Grandmaster Toddy
(Thosaphon Sitiwatjana) and was one of the first generation of Muay Thai Coaches in the UK
under Master Toddy.
Since 1979 I have been specializing in Filipino Martial Arts. I own and operate a full time martial
arts academy in Plymouth, Devon and am the founder of Blade Warriors International, National
Black Belt Schools UK & the Barong Kalasag Kuntaw Kali/Silat System.
I am an Executive Board Member of the British Council of Kali, Eskrima, Arnis Instructors.
I have appeared on TV & in various newspaper articles in the Philippines on a number of
occasions.
I am a three times Doce Pares Hall of Fame Inductee.
In 2008 received the award for "Best Organisation".
In 2010 I was awarded "Exemplary Dedication to Doce Pares".
In 2014 I received the "Valuable Cacoy Doce Pares Grandmaster Award".
In 2015 I was inducted into the Philippines Martial Arts Hall of Fame receiving International
Martial Artist of the Year Award.
