- 1. S/S 13 PERFORMANCE SPORT: IDIOMATIC
By Anne Prahl, WGSN, 11 November 2011
Unique rituals of Native American running cultures and individual training plans, preparation habits and kit
customisation inspire a quirky new performance aesthetic.
Mood
Adjustable function and considered layers support the athlete’s quest for achievement in a variety of extreme terrains and
conditions, as materials and technologies provide inherent protection and improve staying power.
Garments are smart and adaptable. Built-in hydration systems supply the athlete with fluids while on the move and the latest in
wearable GPS and kinetic technologies help monitor, track and coach. Strategic cutouts and convertible features including hoods
and snoods allow heat managment and adaptable protection. Fabrics are also considered, lightweight and versatile, providing
protection from the sun, wind and rain as well as defence against infection and injury.
