Please accept the following letter as an endorsing reference for Mr. Andrew Crum to
receive a position from your organization. Mr. Crum was a student in my Vertebrate
Zoology course at the University of Iowa this semester.
Mr. Crum did admirably in the class. He was one of the few students who contributed
regularly to classroom discussions. His performance in the laboratory portion was
especially impressive with his independent project. Mr. Crum completely rearticulated
the skeleton of a neonate whitetail deer. Dealing with the lack of ossification, especially
in the skull, presented daunting challenges. I believe these particulars demonstrate the
ability and confidence to undertake the necessary background research to successfully
solve a problem that would be much desired in an intern.
I think you will be pleased in the future to have been instrumental in advancing his
career.
