Tremor Assist Device, WPI Jan. – Mar. 2014
• Worked in a group of three students to develop a tremor assist device, which was specifically designed to aid
patients with Parkinson’s disease or Essential Tremors while they eat
• Followed the engineering design model while recording all of the procedures including alternative designs,
testing, and prototyping
• Presented the final design to students and professors from the Biomedical Engineering department.
Early Childhood and Community Development in Flamingo Crescent, WPI, Cape Town, ZA Oct. – Dec. 2014
• Facilitated the development of a multi-stakeholder, community-driven design and construction process for a
crèche (preschool) and recreational area in the Flamingo Crescent informal settlement
• Collaborated with a team of five students to create an executive summary, website, and several presentations.
• Conducted discussions between community members, government, and non-governmental partners that
collaboratively designed, funded, and built a crèche in Flamingo Crescent
