6. Why Tiny Houses
We are seeing tiny houses more and more on HGTV, Travel Channel
and throughout the media. This new trend is affordable and gives you
the opportunity to travel. Most tiny houses are built with wheels, allow-
ing you to take your home wherever you want to go. You can still get the
same function from your home and feel the way you would a regular size
house. There is room for everything you need to live and a lot of houses
offer entertainment space right outside!
Tiny House Hunters is a new show
about buyers that are going small.
They check out three homes (all under
600 square feet) at various locations
to find the one that is right for them.
Downsizing with your living space is
certainly becoming more popular and
mainstream.

simpler life because you won’t have to
worry about a big mortgage payment
and you can save a lot of money from
that. By downsizing, you’re getting rid
of stuff you don’t really need; there-
fore, clutter is no longer a worry.

Simple Living
Environmentally Friendly
A tiny home uses about six
light bulbs on average while
a regular home has about 47.
Solar power is a common op-
tion, in addition to traditional
lighting. A lot of tiny home-
owners don’t have running
water or plumbing; instead
they go for more environmen-
tally friendly options, such
as composting toilets. Small
changes like these can make a
huge difference.

9. Expenses:

Cost of materials for a tiny house is, overall,
less than your average house. You can save
over $400 a month just by choosing tiny.
If you build one yourself, you won’t have a
mortgage to worry about and you would
only be paying around $23,000 for said
build. This is almost 10 times less than what
it would take to build a regular size home.
By not having a mortgage, you’ll have 50%
more in your savings.
You don’t have to worry about the upkeep
of a yard, and the utilities are much cheap-
er. Depending on how often you move your
home, worrying about a yard won’t be an
issue. You can also cut down on utilities.
Your tiny home heating and cooling bill
ranges from just $10-$35 a month com-
pared to $120 a month for standard homes.
A tiny house allows you to save up your
money to travel and to possibly, later in life,
upgrade to a different house. Many buyers
invest in a tiny house to be able to take it
wherever they desire to go. A lot of tiny
home owners don’t have kids and they want
to travel while they still can. Tiny houses
are highly recommended for adults 18-30.

Designing your home in a modern way makes for a clean looking space and makes a space
feel bigger. Modern touches range from simple lines and minimal decorations to open floor
plans and sleek functions. Modern design is especially recommended for tiny houses because it
makes for more room in your space while keeping the look very organized.
A tiny house can be looked at as a single room because of its limited size. Therefore, keeping an
open floor plan is key. You want to include furniture that has clean lines with all one style and
minimal decorations. When working with color, go with neutrals while adding a few pops of
color to make the space exciting.

15. DIYThere are many tiny projects that are easy to do in a short amount of time. Window treatment
and Mason jar storage are just two projects that will have a great impact in your tiny home.
These ideas are easy to complete and may spark motivation for other projects that need to
be done around your home.
There are only a few windows to worry
about in your tiny home, which makes
dressing up your windows that much
easier.
These glass jars are perfect storage containers
that are inexpensive. They can be used for many
projects other than storing liquids.

16. Letter from the Editor
I have been interested in interior design
since I was 10 years old. I would often help
my mom improve the designs within our
home. I would go to furniture stores and
flea markets frequently. I can always find
some inspiration in any show on HGTV. My
goal in life is to personally own a tiny home
and travel out West or down South. My tiny
home will help me achieve this because tiny
houses are mobile and I’ll have more money
in my savings to do so.The love for design
and the want to travel while not being in
debt is my motivation behind Living Limted.
I have a few goals for the readers in creat-
ing Living Limited. The first is that readers
like you will find a new passion for interior
design and decorating your very own tiny
home to reflect your own personal style. I
also wanted our readers to discover why tiny
homes are becoming so popular in today’s
society and why it might be beneficial to
purchase their own tiny home. Finally, I hope
our readers take away new tips on how to
get on board with new modern trends and
learn how to impliment them in their own
homes.Tiny homes could possibly be our
future and Living Limited could be our way
of life.
