Almudena Huerta has been seconded policy advisor for Eurectric from November 2012 until
November 2013. Representing Vereniging Energie-Nederland, the Dutch Energy Association I have
been active in several groups in Eurelectric. These include the Markets Committee, the WG Wholesale
Markets & Trading and several subgroups, including chairing the Sub Group Balancing and Intra-day
Markets. In all these groups I have worked closely together with Almudena, being the main support
from the Eurelectric bureau.
Almudena Huerta managed to master the complex technical and regulatory issues in these groups
very fast. After a few weeks she was fully operational and delivered very valuable input to the
discussions. These were mainly related to the establishment of European Framework Guidelines and
Network Codes for the electricity market. Furthermore Almudena very quickly established a relevant
network with other stakeholders and institutions to be able to effectively coordinate.
Almudena Huerta is also a very good team player that would contribute to any team in an
organisation.
