Tartaric acid, malic acid, and traces of citric
acid found in mangoes help to maintain the
alkalinity of the body. Enzymes in the fruit help
in digestion. The fiber too helps in digestion
and elimination. The raw mango acts as a
coolant in summers. Juice of the green
mango helps cool down the body and
prevents sun stroke.
Anti-ageing Benefits:
 The antioxidants present in this fruit delay the
onset of skin ageing and pigmentation. They
also protect your skin against the harmful free
radicals which can cause skin cancer. Vitamin
C helps in curing pimples and acne. When
applied directly, it smoothens out your skin and
acts as a natural moisturizer.
Anti Cancer Effect
A study led by Susanne Mertens-Talcott,
Ph.D., Assistant Professor and Director for
Research, Institute for Obesity Research and
Program Evaluation of Texas, examined the
effects of polyphenols found in fresh mangoes
on cancerous and non-cancerous breast cells
Aphrodisiac
 Mango has aphrodisiac qualities and is also
called the ‘love fruit’. Mangoes increase the
virility in men. Vitamin E, which is abundantly
present in mangoes, helps to regulate sex
hormones and boosts sex drive

help prevent you from developing prostat cancer.
Recently, studies at The Institute for Food
Research discovered that a compound within
pectin combines with galectin 3 (a protein playing
significant role in all the stages of cancer). The
European Prospective Investigation of Cancer
also has come up with a strong association
between eating mango and lowering the risk of
cancers of the gastrointestinal tract
Clears the Skin:

the skin. Mangos clear clogged pores and
eliminate pimples.
Control acidity:
 Due to its alkaline in nature and presence of
abundant fiber, mango shakes helps in
prevention of indigestion, excess acidity, and
contributes smooth functioning of the digestive
system. The presence of tartaric acid, malic
acid and citric acid help to maintain alkaline
nature of the body. These acids are good for
the digestive tract and enzymes present in the
milk shake breaks the protein into simpler
form.
Cures Anemia & Helps in
Pregnancy
 Mangoes are rich in iron, which makes them beneficial
for people suffering from anemia. A regular,
moderated intake of mangoes can help eliminate
anemia by increasing the red blood cell count in the
body.
 Mangoes are also very beneficial for pregnant woman,
since the iron requirements during pregnant is
extremely essential. Doctors often prescribe iron
tablets during pregnancy, but instead of

diet with juicy mangoes. The taste buds during
pregnancy usually lose some of their sensitivity, so
mangoes will surely prove to be the delight of your
day, for more than just its health benefits.

mangoes are closely related to skin health.
Other than bringing a healthy glow to your
face, mangoes also help to lighten skin color.

regular basis.
Diabetes Management and Prevention
 Further research is still ongoing, but some studies
have already revealed that mangoes are a great
natural remedy for diabetes. It was a long-told myth
that diabetic patients should avoid mangoes because
of its sweet taste; now it is being shown that other
than the fruit, the mango leaves are also helpful in
curing diabetes. Place 10 or 15 mango leaves in warm
water and close it with a lid before going to bed. In the
morning, drink the water on an empty stomach after
filtering the leaves. Regular practice of this method
has shown positive results for diabetic patients in the
management of their blood sugar levels.

effects to digestion. It is also helpful in easing
chronic constipation.
Immune Boosting Effect
The high amount of vitamin C and vitamin A in
mangoes, along with different kinds of
carotenoids help keep the immune system
healthy and strong. Because of their high
content of vitamin A, mango is known to
promote good eyesight
Keeps Blood Pressure Under
Control
 Mangoes have an impressive vitamin content that
assures overall health. They are rich in potassium (4%
in 156 mg) and magnesium (2% in 9 mg), and
mangoes are great natural remedies for high blood
pressure patients. They also contain selenium,
calcium, iron and phosphorus. Mangoes are said to be
vitamin powerhouses as they are rich in riboflavin,
vitamin B6, A, C, E, K, niacin, folate, thiamin and
panthothenic acid. These components help you to

manganese and zinc. Copper acts as a co-
factor for many important vital enzymes such
as cytochrome c-oxidase and superoxide
dismutase. It is essential for production of red
blood cells in the body
Prevents Cancer:

Research has shown antioxidant compounds
in mango fruit have been found to protect
against colon, breast, leukemia and prostate
cancers. These compounds include quercetin,
isoquercitrin, astragalin, fisetin, gallic acid and
methylgallat, as well as the abundant
enzymes.
Promotes Brain Health
 Mangoes have abundant quantities of vitamin B-6,
which is vital for maintaining and improving the brain’s
function. These vitamins aid in the amalgamation of
the major neurotransmitters that contributes in
determining mood and the modification of sleeping
patterns. Mangoes naturally provide significant
quantities of this vitamin. With mangoes as a part of
your diet, you can be assured of a healthy brain and
effective nerve functioning. You will also be avoiding
medicinal supplements, which have a long list of
possible side effects. The Glutamine acid content in
mangoes also improves concentration and the power
of your memory.
Reduces Kidney Stones
 In Chinese medicine, mangoes are
considered sweet and sour with a cooling
energy also capable of reducing the risk of
kidney stone formation.
Relaxing Effect
Mango is rich in Vitamin B-6 which is essential
for Gamma-Amino Butyric acid (GABA)
hormone production. GABA is an amino acid
which acts as a neurotransmitter in the central
nervous system, inhibiting nerve transmission
in the brain, thus causing a calming effect.
Skin glowing:
 Drinking of mango juice is good in prevention
and management of acne, pimples, wrinkles,
blemishes, black spots, etc. The application of
mango pulp for ten minutes followed by
washing it with fresh water is beneficial for fair

 Before going to bed put some 10 or 15 mango
leaves in warm water and close it with lid. The
next day morning filter the water and drink it in
empty stomach.

teaspoon of mango pulp, half a teaspoon of
milk or milk powder and honey. Rub it all over
your face in circular motion. This will help in
removing dead skin and blackheads, thus
adding a glow to your face.

 Mango skin is also beneficial in reducing dark
spots. For this purpose, you can make a
powder from the sun dried mango skin and mix
it with a teaspoon of yogurt. Using this as face
pack will reduce dark spots, blemishes and
add a golden glow to your complexion.
Treatment of Acne:
 Raw mango juice is an excellent astringent
that can remove acne. You can boil a slice of a
baby mango or raw mango in water and use
this water on your face as an acne remover.

fighting dandruff and adding shine to your
hair. It is often used as an ingredient in hair
moisturizers. Mangoes contain vitamin E
which improves scalp circulation and
encourages hair growth.
Treatment of Hair Loss and Grey
Hair:
 Mango seed oil is an excellent source of fatty
acids vitamins and minerals. The seed kernel
itself has great moisturizing properties. You
can prepare this oil by removing the outer coat
of the mango seed and adding them to a jar of
coconut, sesame or mustard oil and place this
jar in the sunlight for a few days. Using this
concoction regularly will make your hair long,
black and thick and prevent hair loss
Weight Gain
 Mango consumption is one of the easiest ways
to gain weight. 150g of mango has around 86
calories, which can be absorbed easily by the
body. Moreover, mangoes contain starch,
which transforms into sugar that aids in
gaining weight. Some people work hard to put
on weight for a variety of reasons, and mango
should definitely be a part of their diet. Mango
milkshakes will accelerate the process of
gaining weight since they also contain milk,
and are notoriously delicious!
