• You have completed all your fines, probation, jail time and other sentences
• It has been five years (summary) or 10 years (indictable) since your sentence
• You do not have Schedule 1 offences against a minor or more than three
indictable offences each carrying a sentence of two years or more.

Limitations
What can’t it do?
A Record Suspension has some limitations:
• If you have any sexual offences, they will still appear if you submit to a
Vulnerable Sector Check. This check is only allowed for work and volunteering
with children or vulnerable adults (such as the elderly or disabled).
• It cannot erase a driving or firearm ban, but it will still seal your criminal record.
• If you reoffend, the record will be unsealed.

• The Parole Board fee is $631
• Court and police checks set their own prices
• Fingerprints – You will need to pay a local police department or private agency
to do your fingerprints. Costs can vary.
• A Certified Criminal Record is $25
• You don’t need a representative to help you with your application. However,
some people choose to have a representative for convenience.
