Alexis Delahaut has worked pro bono as a team leader for 180 Degrees Consulting Copenhagen for ten weeks during the spring semester of 2015, dedicating a minimum of ten hours weekly to consulting projects and providing valuable advice to socially conscious organizations. She also participated in training sessions on problem solving methodology and presentation skills facilitated by leading management consultants. Why we failed to survive
The group failed to survive a scenario where they were lost at sea due to several factors: they did not recognize or leverage the expertise of one member, they spent too much time deliberating initially without properly analyzing each item's utility, and their assumptions differed from the actual optimal solution. In the future, the group could have benefited from using a decision-making framework like the Kepner-Trego matrix or OODA loops to systematically evaluate alternatives based on priorities and constraints. While the group took each member's input, they learned they need a more effective and efficient process to analyze options in survival scenarios.
