Motivate your self like before
1. Motivate yourself like never before
Who needs Tony Robbins when you can motivate yourself? It's not always easy to overcome
the emotional barrier that pushes you to do things when you'd rather sit on the couch. But
unless calling in sick and waking up at noon is of no consequence to you, it's often a
necessity.
For those of you who never procrastinate, don't get distracted, and don't drag your feet when
you should be doing something important, good for you! But for the rest of you, it's good to
have a library of motivational boosters to get you going.
Despite your best efforts, passion, habits and a flow-generating environment can fail.
1 - Get back to the "why"
Focusing on a boring task does not make it more appealing. Instead, zooming out and
asking yourself why you bother doing it will make it more appealing.
If you can't figure out why, chances are you shouldn't be doing it in the first place.

2 - Go for five
Start working for five minutes. Often, that little push will be enough to get you going.

3 - Get moving
Move your body as you would if you were extremely motivated to do something. This "mock"
approach to motivation may seem silly or crass, but it works.
4 - Find the next step
What's stopping you from working? Don't let the itch persist without isolating it and
eliminating the problem.
Are you unmotivated because you feel overwhelmed, tired, scared, bored, agitated or angry?
Maybe it's because you're not sure you have the time or the tasks you've been delegated
haven't been completed yet?

2. 5 - Deconstruct your fears
I'm sure you don't have a phobia about completing tasks. But at the same time, hidden fears
or anxieties can keep you from doing real work.
Isolate the unknowns and trust that you can handle the worst case scenario.
6 - Find a partner
Find someone who will motivate you when you feel lazy. I have a friend that I go to the gym
with. In addition to weight loss, having a friend can help motivate you to work hard when you
would normally give up.
