•	 Aptamers are short nucleic acid molecules organized into well-defined three-dimensional structures. Aptamers
bind to target protein, lipid, or nucleic acid molecules with a high degree of specificity. This specificity arises from
the three-dimensional structures of the molecules. Aptamers can be generated rapidly and applied for specific
detection, inhibition, and characterization of proteins. These can be used as pharmaceutical leads, detection
reagents, and functional proteomic level (with small molecules, antibodies, or other aptamers). The scope of this
market report includes DNA-, RNA-, and XNA-based aptamers that are used for research applications.
