This document outlines the research methodology that will be used in a study about strategic planning and organizational performance in small and medium companies. The study will use a quantitative approach and primary data collected through questionnaires distributed to 30 owners and managers. Secondary data will also be collected from previous literature. The research design will use an exploratory approach involving an initial literature review. Both thematic and correlational analyses will be used to analyze qualitative data from interviews and quantitative data from questionnaires. Reliability will be ensured by measuring Cronbach's alpha.

1. Research Methodology
Methodology includes the theoretical and philosophical assumptions upon
which research is based and the implications of these for the method or
methods adopted. The methods specifically refer to the techniques and
procedures used to obtain and analyze data.
The quantitative approach will followed in the study, this research approach is
heavily depend on the reality that the information being processed is rather of a
quantifiable nature , help the researcher ensure high levels of reliability of the
data gathered.
Data Collection Method
Primary Data: is data that is used for a specific purpose for which it was
gathered
The aim of the primary data is to build basic knowledge about the strategic
planning and organizational performance, and updated information.
These new data will collected through questionnaires.
Questionnaires: A close-ended questionnaire will be distributed.

2. Secondary Data: is data that is used for purposes other than for which it
will originally obtained.
Collecting information already processed by other researchers. In the
previous sections, an in-depth literature review has been demonstrated to
emphasize strategic planning.
Research Design
The research design is adopting specific methods and measures to answer
certain questions, more specifically the research question in this research.
Almost all researches can be categorized into several types of research
designs. But throughout this research
Exploratory approach will used, where a theoretical background and
literature review have been covered so as build a solid infrastructure to the
research and to connect the intended results with such literature.
Population
The population includes small and medium company in Ramallah.
Sample
A sample of small and medium company will be taken and
interviewed to investigate strategic planning, 30 owner and managers will
be selected randomly to fill the questionnaire.

3. Data Analyses
To analyze the qualitative and quantitative data being obtained, we will
adopt different methods
Thematic Analysis
Also called comparative analysis.
It is used to analyze the qualitative data. In our case, it is obtained from
interviewing our sample of companies. The analyses will be able to give
us a more detailed view of the relationship we are aiming to test.
Correlational Analysis
It is used to analyze the quantitative data. In our case, it is obtained through
the questionnaire being distributed to the sample of managers. This aspect
measures the relationship statistically, to prove whether a relationship
exits, and how strong it is. The Statistical Package for the Social Science
(SPSS) program will be used to statistically measure the Transformational
leadership within Jawwal Company. Cronbach’s alpha, mean and
frequencies are essential elements for such measurements.
Reliability of the Tool
The research should be bias-free to yield more accurate and reliable
results. Based on this fact, a Cronbach's alpha measurement will be used
through the SPSS statistical program to measure the error free and

4. consistency through the research. Through this method, we make sure we
reduce as much errors as we can.
Quantitative Research
After 30 questionnaires will be distributed to owner and managers of small
and medium company, the data will be collected and processed through
three different types of analysis
Correlational Analysis
Pearson correlation coefficient will be used to analyze the quantitative data
collected.
