I have been in the field of Special Education since 1983, having taught students in preschool through high school with varying disabilities. I have also worked in juvenile detention, day treatment, and hospital settings, and have taught Special Education classes and supervised internships at the university level. Currently, I am the Autism Consultant for a large metro Detroit school district, and work with students, parents, and teachers (both gen. ed. and Sp. Ed.) to plan and implement appropriate educational programs in our district. I am the parent of two boys. My oldest son is a very talented artist and author, and happens to have Asperger's Syndrome.
