Your Website is a 24/7 promotional sales tool that never gets tired. Forget about networks like IMDB,
Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or even your own Agent’s website. They only show a SLICE of WHO you
really are. Therefore you need to tell the WHOLE story about WHO you really are. Show these talent
agents, producers, casting directors, and even the FANS who YOU really are.
There are 4 questions every actor’s website should answer.
1. WHO YOU ARE
2. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE
3. WHY YOU ARE GOOD AT WHAT YOU DO
4. HOW DO I CONTACT YOU
Then there are basic web design layouts that are easy on the eyes and with simple navigation. The
worst thing you can do is make it difficult for people to find out the 4 important questions
Let’s break this down:

2. Now let’s chunk this website up and break it down for you:
1. WHO YOU ARE
What you are seeing is the title of website. This is your Brand! You must secure your DOMAIN name. It
is important for both aspiring and seasoned actor to have there identity. Don’t wait to you become
super famous and then find out some domain broker purchased your domain name and will gladly sell it
to you for $5,000! These domains are super cheap and should be part of your marketing budget.
Buy your domains for less than $10 a year. The best domain register I use is NameCheap. I don’t
recommend the popular one that most people know. They are expensive and upsell you to death. Plus I
have horror stories.

Now that is the first part of WHO YOU ARE. Second part is that you need to actually talk about yourself
and tell YOUR STORY. This is very powerful because your BIO (YOUR STORY) makes the reader feel

3. closer to you. This is always the best start of building a relationship with important industry people.
This is short and sweet put packs a real punch. You never know if media such as bloggers, magazines,
and other writers need to get a short bio from you. They can easily get this info from your official
website.
Notice the Social Media Icons? Yes they are really important because you need people to share your
info on their network profiles. Encourage them to spread the word!
2. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?
For Actors this is very simple. It’s your RESUME. This is a no brainer and should be added and updated
regularly.

4. I personally like to link each resume to photos and videos to show the proof of your work. This creates
the social proof you need to make you look much more credible. Let them know you are a bona fide
industry professional actor.
You need a page dedicated for your DEMO REEL:
It’s best to upload your demo reel to YOUTUBE. I know many folks like Vimeo but Youtube has a much
bigger network and TV/FILM people regularly scout on YOUTUBE.

5. Make sure you have LOTS of pictures of YOU!
You should have both professional headshots and many other lifestyle and candid photos. These
represent the REAL YOU. Also notice on the right hand side is a FACEBOOK fan page link. That is an
absolute must have. Every MAJOR actor/celebrity has a facebook page. I don’t care what age or gender
you are, this is a must have to make you relevant to the industry.
3. WHY YOU ARE GOOD AT WHAT YOU DO
I know this must be a difficult concept to many of you. Generally lots of upcoming actors are very
narcissistic. Although, it is a good quality to have, that is self confidence. But there is a fine line
between self-confidence and being down right arrogant. You should always keep an open mind and
never assume you KNOW everything. Things change every day and it is impossible to know everything.
With that being said many actors assume they are “THE BEST” but just need a “SHOT”. They need a
certain industry person to help them get that “ONE BIG BREAK”
The TRUTH is that most actors are mediocre at best. If you are who you say you are then you need to
PROVE it. Your website shows About You, Resume, Photos, and videos that should show your overall

6. body of work. Hopefully this will prove you are good through the eyes of the industry execs. But to
PROVE WITHOUT A SHAWDOW OF DOUBT HOW GOOD YOU ARE is to build a HUGE fan base.
I always see posts on Facebook from people complaining about talentless actors/celebs that are famous.
They are complaining about the new crop of celebrities and saying “BACK IN THE DAY” you had to have
talent to be famous. To me that is a pessimistic attitude. I like to say, it is much more than ever EASIER
to become successful. That is my optimistic approach to thinking about how to be successful in the
acting industry.
It is so simple to film a short movie starring YOU! Think about this, there are people famous on
instagram and Vine by doing 7 second VIDEOS! Yes it only takes a short 7 second video that goes VIRAL.
But this actually takes talent and creativity. That is how you PROVE your skills as a creative actor. Show
them that you can get 100 thousands upon thousands of views of your WORK. This takes talent and
don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise.
These are the viral and trending videos that industry executives look for. You no longer need to be an
amazing professional basketball player to get a million dollar endorsements. Get 100k followers on
Instagram and watch how many offers come your way.

7. Use something simple like that for a general inquiry. But for industry exec might just want to talk to your
agency or industry specific website services:
Generally you want to cover all your bases. Different people will require different methods to contact
you. Your goal is to ensure you have every option for them.

8. DO YOU FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE NOW?
This is a short guide to help you create the ultimate acting website. Many people will attempt to do this
themselves. I understand that upcoming actors want to save money. I will tell you this though, think
about what is important for you before you invest in your next training class or pay for a very expensive
“WORKSHOP”.
Personally, I seen casting directors workshops high as $399 but yet actors will say paying $150 for a
professional website is too expensive. That is a total LOL moment for me. I understand that we all
humans and tend to chase the next “SHINY OBJECT” that is in front of us. They fall for the marketing
trap thinking that is the secret formula for success.
The secret to your success is building a foundation that will last much longer than an expensive 3 hour
workshop. Creating the ultimate website for your brand should be a number one priority.
