The CNN logo is very simple. The three letters are all joined and the initials become
more of a shape than a trio of letters. Red and white and classic basic colours but
the red is instantly recognisable – the white pin stripe through the centre of the
letters is important too, it breaks up the solid red and makes the logo much easier on
the eye. It is also a great way of highlighting the letters and stopping the logo
becoming just a wiggle of red. The shape of the logo is significant too, although the
curve of the ‘C’ is there, the logo itself is a certain height and fits well in the corner of
a news screen. Being essentially a rectangular shape makes it easier to keep
straight and level when editing it into footage.
