modern trends in bedding
1. Modern Trends in Bedding
Some people can’t sleep in a bed that’s too firm or too soft, or if the duvet cover sets are too light or
too heavy. I, however, could care less about how many blankets are on top of me or how hard the bed
is under me, but I can’t sleep a wink if the bed is out of fashion.
Since I don’t insist my husband remodel my bedroom every few years, I feel totally justified in having
him get me a new bedding set every couple years.
I've got to admit, I didn’t use to give a hoot about the spotted owl, but every since the eco-craze
reached the fashion world, the stuffed great horned owl on my pillow gets me positively horny.
Yes, the animal kingdom has conquered the fashion world. The hottest animal prints right now are of
African animals. Giraffes and zebras are jungle hot right now, with tigers and leopards nipping their
tails.
And who am I to buck the trend? So here I am, lying’ in my zebra bedding set, praying that no lion is
hiding behind my tree lamp.
Kids everywhere must be delighted, because now their animal bedding is finally in style. So, dig out
your old safari bedspread from the attic, and send it to your college kid. I’m sure he’ll be
overwhelmed.
Animal bedding and eco-friendly seemed boring to me at first. I was wondering if I’d have to start
skinning my own hides. But then I started looking through catalogues, and oh my god, some of the
animal bedding actually looked smart! I nearly hit the floor!
Naturally, the color green is in right now. But watch out, because some of the best shades of green
bedding don’t flatter your skin tone.
The earthy Egyptian cotton sheets fashions have made green-and-brown bedding really popular now.
Botanical blues together with greens aren’t my favorite mix, but that combo is fairly big right now,
apparently representing sky and lake.
Fitting right in with this “go green” theme in the world of bedding are the new environmentally
friendly fabrics and materials like organic cotton and eco-polyester. These new materials, for the most
part, are bio-degradable.
Not only are these hypoallergenic fabrics good for the planet, but they’re also kind to to your health.

2. seeds or seaweed, are softer than some of the more commonly used waterproof mattress protection
fabrics. I wouldn’t doubt that soon they’ll be making edible pillow slips that you can feed to wildlife.
For some peculiar reason, the color white is also quite trendy right now. Classic black-and-white prints,
in particular, are hot. White is traditionally a safe color for bedding. If you’re looking for a color that
never goes out of fashion, a crisp, clean white is the obvious choice.
This brings me to a problem that I haven’t found a solution for. What will happen when the eco craze is
over and I’m forced to abandon my owl and zebra? Will I be accused of causing their extinction?
