2. About wollastoite
Wollastonite (CaSiO3) is a silicate mineral that
occurs in metamorphosed carbonate rocks.
This mineral belongs to a group of chain
silicates named pyroxenoids. These are
minerals that are similar to pyroxenes but their
crystal chains are distorted (not straight).
Compared to pyroxenes, these minerals are
rare
Wollastonite, a calcium metasilicate, has an ideal composition of 48.3
percent calcium oxide and 51.7 percent silicon dioxide, but it can also
contain minor amounts of aluminum, iron, magnesium, manganese,
potassium, sodium or strontium substituting for calcium. Wollastonite
occurs as prismatic crystals that break into tabular-to-acicular fragments.
It is usually white but also may be gray, cream, brown, pale green, or red
depending on its impurities and grain size.

5. Wollastonite Powder Market was valued at USD 195 Million in 2019 and is projected
to reach USD 363.98 Million by 2027, growing at a CAGR of 8.1% from 2020 to 2027

8. The construction sector is the major driving factor
for the growth of the wollastonite powder market.
Wollastonite is used in floor and tiles and with the
growing construction and infrastructure activities
worldwide the demand for wollastonite powder is
increasing exponentially.
9. The processing methods of wollastonite can be mainly divided
into three types: purification, ultra-fine processing and surface
modification. Purification is the most basic processing method.
The purpose is mainly to remove harmful iron minerals in ore
and improve the quality of ore. The pulverization of
wollastonite powder is to be processed to a certain particle
size, while maintaining the aspect ratio of the crystal as much
as possible. The aspect ratio of wollastonite is generally 7-8:1,
some can reach 15-20:1, and the highest is 30:1. The aspect
ratio of the obtained wollastonite differs due to the difference
in the pulverization method. At present, the wollastonite
crushing/grinding equipment used in the market can be
divided into the following categories, crushers,Raymond mill,
ball mill and some others.
Since there are several machines for wollastonite, choosing the
most suitable one is so important. And this depends on your
requirements of its powder fineness and capacity.
