Certified Welding Inspector Brochure
1. If you work in the field of welding:
Do You Qualify?
You’ve made the smart decision to become AWScertified. You know that certification can mean a proof
that your skills and knowledge label you as one of the
industry’s elite.
In order to qualify as a Certified Welding Inspector, you
must pass a vision test and have a combination of
qualifying education and work experience, with
supporting documentation, as follows:
Becoming certified means passing tests that require a
high degree of knowledge, top-notch skills, and ability
to navigate complex codes quickly. And if you, like
everyone else, have little time to study, then the SIRIM
-AWS has the answer.
We at SIRIM Berhad offer six days of intensive course
that will help prepare you for the AWS certification
tests. Our experienced instructors will help you learn
the material you need to know fast, and show you how
to use and understand the latest standards.
Once you are certified, you’ll receive a free
subscription to Inspection Trends magazine, geared
specifically to keep you informed of the latest
developments in testing and materials inspection.
The course provides clinics for the AWS D1.1 Code/
API 1104 Code/ASME IX Code, workshops in
Welding Inspection and Visual Inspection, followed by
the certification exam at the end of the week. You may
choose any above mentioned Codes for testing in Part
C examination.
If you make decisions about employees in the
field of welding:
When you hire an SIRIM-AWS certified employee,
you are getting one of the most highly qualified people
in the business. SIRIM-AWS Certification helps your
company minimize failures and recalls, increase sales
advantages over foreign and domestic competition, and
maximize product liability protection.
SIRIM-AWS recognize that time is valuable. Our
course saves your company time and money on training
and testing. We also want to make it easy on your
bottom line by offering the pre-exam course and the

time and money by not traveling abroad for the course
and examination.
The SIRIM-AWS CWI Certification is one of the
industry’s most respected stamps of approval. Industry
professionals who qualify are highly regarded and
sought-after throughout the welding industry, because
