The Bishop of Baguio has branded a mass lesbian and gay wedding due to take place tomorrow in Baguio City an “insult” to marriage. “This is an insult to the institution [of marriage]. We should not support it,” Bishop Carlito Cenzon says. The mass wedding is to take place the day before the 5th Baguio Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Parade on Sunday. Bishop Cenzon said Church and society cannot accept what he termed “a disorder.” However, he said gays and lesbians need pity. “We can understand them as we are trying to accept them, but unions [as husbands and wives] are intolerable [to the Church],” the bishop said, adding that “accepting [gays and lesbians] is not synonymous with accepting their sexual activities.”
