    -Founders: Mark Zuckerberg with his college roommates and fellow computer science students Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes.
    - Destination: Harvard University Dormitory.
  • 3. FISRT STEPS
    • Within the first month, more than half the undergraduate population at Harvard was registered on the service.
    • 4. In March 2004, Facebook expanded to Stanford, Columbia, and Yale, then Ivy League schools, Boston University, New York University, MIT, and gradually most universities in Canada and the United States.
    • 5. In June 2004, Facebook moved its base of operations to Palo Alto, California.
  • WORLDWIDE DEVELOPMENT
    • In October 2008, Facebook announced that it was to set up its international headquarter in Dublin, Ireland.
    • 6. Until 2010, there are 5 headquarters of Facebook around the world:
    + Palo Alto, California, U.S. (main headquarter; serves the Americas).
    + Dublin, Ireland (headquarter for Europe, Africa, Middle East).
    + Seoul, South Korea (headquarter for Asia).
    + Wellington, New Zealand (headquarter for Oceania).
    + Hyderabad, India (Headquarter for South Asia).

    • Most of Facebook's revenues comes from advertising.
    • 9. Facebook has approximately 1,400 employees and offices in eight countries.
    • 10. Regarding Facebook ownership, Mark Zuckerberg owns 24% of the company, Accel Partners owns 10%, Dustin Moskovitz owns 6%, Digital Sky Technologies owns 5%, …etc

  • 13. FACEBOOK IN VIETNAM
    • Before June 2009, Yahoo! 360 was the top social network in Vietnam.
    • 14. In July 13th 2009, Yahoo! 360 was closed in Vietnam. Users started creating a new account in some social network like Facebook, Yahoo! 360 Plus, Myspace, Twitter, WordPress…
    • 15. In November 2009, Facebook was blocked in Vietnam but users could easily unblock by changing the DNS (domain name server).
    • 16. In May 2010, Facebook officially became the top social network in Vietnam.
    • 17. Now, the amount of new Facebook user in Vietnam is still increasing fast.
