CASE STUDY 1 : GAME FUNCTIONAL TESTING
INDUSTRY: Game Development and Publishing
CLIENT DESCRIPTION:
RDI’s client is one of the leading developer and distributor of casual games, with over 3000 titles. The client offers
its games through a mix of channels including online, download, smart phones, tablets, through Facebook, and
Google.
Our client is based in the Netherlands, and boast of over 50 million players around the world enjoying its games.
SOLUTION / SERVICE PROVIDED:
RenditionDigital provides a dedicated team of software testers to test multiple language versions of our client’s
downloadable adventure, time management, and hidden object games.
Our Game Testing Team conducts its testing activities by following walkthrough, provided by our client, to test the
game play from its start to finish, and also test across different versions of the windows operating system.
These bugs are then reported to our client at the end of each day, through a client provide spreadsheet, and
consolidated at the completion of each game’s testing.
The RDI Game Testing Team follows the UK work hours for its operations, from Mondays to Fridays.
The Team has a dedicated Supervisor which owns the day-to-day coordination of tasks, and escalation of issues,
with RDI’s client.

CASE STUDY 2: GAME AND ONLINE COMMUNITY SUPPORT
VIRTUAL WORLD SUPPORT AND PLAYER MODERATION
CLIENT DESCRIPTION:
Our client retails make-your-own stuffed toy animals in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland,
and France, through company-owned, retail establishments.
The client is current listed in the NYSE, and in 2007, posted total revenue of $470 M.
SOLUTION / SERVICE PROVIDED:
The client envisioned the development of a Virtual Work in order to extend their stuffed animal experience to the
World Wide Web in 2007, and needed a partner who would provide the Customer Service, On-Line Community
Management, and Testing Services needed to support the operations and growth of this virtual play-land.
RenditionDigital’s BPO expertise allowed us to put together the operations team needed to meet the client’s
requirements.

1. CUSTOMER SERVICE
o RD has put together a Customer Service Team (which runs 18x7) to address all user queries and
concerns.

o The Customer Service Team is split into a 1 and 2 Tier Email Support Teams, which handle all
account and game related issues being experienced by the Virtual World’s players, and is managed by
its own Team Lead.
o The Support Team’s Leads also functions as the Quality Assurance Support personnel of the
operations, where all outgoing email correspondence to the Virtual World users, based on the quality
metrics agreed with RD’s clients.
2. ON-LINE COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT
o With the commitment to build an on-line experience for all ages, RD provides a 12 man team of
“Game Masters” who ensure that the Virtual World is safe and fun environment for its primary age
group of users ages 6 to 14.
o This team not only ensure that the site is free from “cyber predators”, but also make the game more
fun by interacting directly with the players.
o These Game Masters also investigate all complaints between players, and acts to keep the game as a
fair place for its gamers.
o The Team also manages the other off-game community sites that promote the Virtual World’s on-line
community (ex. discussion boards, Facebook).
3. GAME TESTING
o Given our strength in Software Development, our client has also tapped RD Software Testing services
in order to ensure the quality of the new releases before it goes live to the internet.
o Our Game Testing Team follow accepted industry standards in ensuring each game release.
o Team Size
Aside from the in-game support services, our client has also tapped RD to provide a dedicated team for its Retail
Store Help Desk and Web Development.
4. RETAIL STORE HELPDESK
o The HelpDesk Team provides IT support to the client’s retail stores operating in the US.
o The team functions as a call in center for Tier 1 type issues.
o Once a call is received, the team remotely accesses the IT equipment exhibiting the issue, and
progresses with initial troubleshooting.
o Issues are logged and tracked against an agreed Service Level Agreement with the client.
5. WEB DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
o The dedicated Web Development Team to work on updates for the client’s game and corporate site.
o The development team work on Flash scripting, HTML and PHP programming, and is also proficient
Adobe Photoshop as the team is also tasked to create original artwork following the guidelines set by
the client.

CASE STUDY 1 : HODDER
INDUSTRY: Publishing/E-Learning – Mobile Development
CLIENT DESCRIPTION:
The client is one of the largest and one of the most diversified book publishers in the UK, which deals in the
publishing of educational materials, as well as the development of E-Learning materials.
The client has also ventured into the development of mobile E-Learning applications for the iPhone and iPad, to
which RenditionDigital was asked to provide its expertise.
SOLUTION / SERVICE PROVIDED:
RenditionDigital was tasked to develop and enhance the client’s iPhone app. The application is a platform for
users to learn a foreign language, on their own, using the “Michael Thomas method”.
RenditionDigital provided development and testing expertise to the project, which made use of Objective C and
XCode as its main technologies.
2 Development engineers and 1 UI/Multimedia engineer were assigned to the 11 month project (3 months for the
initial development project, 8 months for the application enhancements).

CASE STUDY 2: EDCO (THE EDUCATIONAL COMPANY OF IRELAND)
INDUSTRY: PUBLISHING
CLIENT DESCRIPTION:
Educational Company of Ireland is one of Ireland's leading educational publishers, and have been publishing
Primary and Post Primary textbooks aligned to the Irish curriculum for almost 100 years.
SOLUTIONS/SERVICE:
Edco has been a returning client of RenditionDigital, and has contracted RD for the development of the animated
components to Edco’s eLearning textbooks.
These projects involve the conversion of images to Flash animated components, and exporting these to SWF of
QuickTime file outputs.
The tasks involved in the creation of Flash (SWF) file outputs are as follows:
Re-layout text and images from sources to flash environment
Creation of buttons for navigation and action scripting
Animation development
While the creation of QuickTime files go through the following phases:
Convert all scripts to main timeline-based animation.
Delete unnecessary interactivities such as Play button, Close button and mouse-over effects.
Export to video (H.264 QuickTime)
Edco makes use of RD’s Flash Team for these projects, which employs AS2, and AS3 scripting for the development
of Edco’s projects.
RD also taps its independent Multimedia QA team to ensure that the project outputs meet the client’s quality
levels.

CLIENT DESCRIPTION:
Gill & Macmillan is Ireland’s leading publisher of college, further education, school and general books. Formed in
1968, Gill & Mcmillan publishes a wide range of books and materials for different markets and readerships for both
the online and printed media.
SOLUTIONS/SERVICE:
RenditionDigital is responsible for the development of a learning platform and creation of 73 flash-based ebooks
targeted for primary education based on specific existing book titles. The work includes development of the main
framework and 73 ebooks, where each ebook has a 2-page worksheet and interactive activity.
The project makes use of Adobe Flash and AS3 scripting technology, and incorporates the following components to
all of the 73 ebooks:
Listen and Record – 10-page book audio animation, user click per word, playback audio
