There are some that believe that innovation
Can only come about through random
 acts of creativity.

This is simply not the case!

    Innovation can be intentionally
      developed in targeted areas
       of opportunity.

This is not a simple ideation exercise.
It is a…..
    Customized
     Strategic
          Multifaceted
            Process
                for Creating
                   Targeted Innovation

Each Step Is Critical to the Process
(1) Defining the Opportunity
The best areas of opportunity are rarely the ones originally anticipated by the
management team. This step looks at multiple strategic levels and can even
require stepping back and rethinking the overall strategies.
(2) Breaking the Paradigm
This is the most difficult step. It is critical for moving members of the team
out of their existing mental models and opening up new ways of seeing
possibilities. We sometimes refer to it as “Seeing Different.”
(3) Idea Generation & Refinement
Different approaches can generate different ideas. It is important that they be
designed to yield the maximum number of high quality ideas.
(4) Refining & Narrowing
Sophisticated tools help the team quickly narrow the list to the best ideas.
(5) Decision Making & Implementation
Project & portfolio management for high potential, higher risk opportunities..

                                         Multiple tools are
                                         used depending on
                                         the type and scope
                 Creativity and

                    Toolbox pursued.

The Bottom Line
This process can be used repeatedly and
in any area of strategic importance.
It can be used to create true differentiation
and strategic competitive advantage.
It can be used to move growth “above the
trend line.”
Finally, it can be used to jump-start the move
by any organization toward developing a
truly innovative culture.
