This is to show you what industries and the number of employees per business. Approximately 40% of our respondents said they fit into the manufacturing industry and there is representation from companies of all sizes.
Forbes published a report saying that the average employee stays in a job now for 4.4 years. Our data shows that for the quality professional, the average is 5.6 years. Forbes also highlighted that millennials are much more likely to job hop than gen x, y or baby boomers.
The job titles have stayed very similar since last years’ survey – Quality Manager and Head of quality, all coming up a lot in job titles. However, there were some notable changes, such as a the term “Business Assurance Manager” cropping up more frequently, perhaps to reflect the Quality Professional’s broader job role. And “Standards Manager”.
EH Note for next year – will there be a skills shortage as lots of QP’s retiring? Look at their background and qualifications. Years in role etc.
With the revised ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards now live, we were interested to see what the impact has been. The answers have been completely mixed as to the impact on their role, however, ¾ have said that it has made a positive impact on their organisation. This is more than the number who predicted that the changes would be positive, - only 68%.
There are a few of the responses to the ISO 9001:2015 standard on here.
41% of quality professionals who implemented a QMS in the last two years have been promoted
Thank you for joining us today. I’m going to talk to you for the next 45 minutes about the results from the Global Quality Survey.
This year, we sent a survey to around 6,000 Quality professionals who have signed up to our newsletter and other information. We asked a number of the same questions we asked for the Global Quality Survey 2015 so that we can notice trends year on year.

Good morning and welcome all, for those of you that don’t know me, my name is Gemma Baldan
Intro
Following on from rob’s presentation, I hope I can maintain your attention while I discuss a far more bland topic, but one which I hope is equally as thought provoking.
We have a new range of "In Life” services, once your EQMS is up and running but the focus today is on System Optimisation and maximising your Return On Investment.
The world is moving faster than we’ve ever known it, and the organisations we all work for are constantly evolving.
EQMS has a job to do in maintaining and managing your information, process, people and a whole host of critical activities – all of which are subject to ongoing change; whether change be due to business growth, smarter ways of working, people moving roles – it all has an impact.
EQMS too, is constantly evolving, our development cycle is 3-weekly, with new enhancements and functionality gracing us every 3 weeks over a year period.
EQMS must stay aligned with each of our customers ( each of your )- business needs, and we do this via 4 activities
And it’s the fit for purpose element that I want to discuss today.
Fit for purpose configuration, means a system that aligns with your organisation, and provides maximum ROI - whether it’s tangible via time savings, or travel cost reductions. Or intangible through automised processes or better forecasting.
EQMS system optimisation is a service that we have devised over that last few months. A series of 3 levels of support:
The good news is that the first tier of support – The System Health Check has been added to our standard support and maintenance package – so its included within what you already pay annually.
OUTCOMES:
Sops
End user reach out sessions
Training Gaps
Config gaps
User management
1. Provides an initial analysis of the usage of EQMS to inform any required changes, and solidify current methods of working
An honest ‘top level’ review of a host of metrics – inc. how users have been accessing and using the system over a period of time (usually 12 months).
Highlight areas of good system use and user engagement.
Highlight areas of improvement
The outcome of the work, is a health check report.
Actions may include:
EQMS config fit for purpose?
New SOPs?
Greater end user awareness?
2. A detailed review of configuration at module level.
Maximise the potential for uniform reporting and data analysis.
Highlight areas of improvement to help standardise and strengthen business processes.
Reduce the risk of poor user engagement and learn from areas of inactivity – can it be done better?
The outcome of this work, is a module specific report, with questions and analysis to rationalise any existing module setup and highlight areas of improvement
3.Best practice recommendations report
