History of Troop 2399
1.
2. Founded with the help of Scoutmaster Mike Grazca in
the spring of 1999.
The first official scouts bridged over from Pack 316.
The first five boys who bridged from 316 were Tim
Grazca, Zack Beckman, Peter Andrade, Jason Albano,
and James Arkfeld.
These members attended Summer Camp in July of
2000 at Camp Mataguay in San Diego.
3. The founders wanted to have a troop chartered with
the local church.
They were aiming to start a troop in Chino Hills that
was more local than nearby troops in Chino or
Diamond Bar.
4. Originally, there were only 5 boys interested in joining
the troop.
It was hard to recruit more boys to join the troop.
Because of the lack of boys, there was very little parent
involvement, leading to a lack of Scoutmasters.
5. Originally known as Troop 399, the name had to be
changed to conflicts within the District.
Now, Troop 2399 still carries on the same legacy as
Troop 399.
