4. The subject guide
YEAR 6
Discover the understanding for
the formal qualities when
learning “practice makes
perfect;” as the true essence of
exploring new techniques and
skills. We encourage Abstract
art, fantasy and reality as ever
evolving views, lateral thinking
and a dynamic approach.
Including this is the changes
through our own perception
creating imaginative multi-
media art and design work.
Please refer to the Uptown
Secondary blog.

6. YEAR 10
Pop art and culture, to the
current times and contemporary
practices that contribute to
health, environment, science
and technology, religion and
political policies in society
today. Students will investigate
the traditions and inventions of
communicating the power of
text, and how text has
transformed through time. We
look deeper into the art form of
text, and its aesthetics, trends
and how text can be interpreted
through the wider community
using design media as a
platform.
Andy Warhol - Mao, 1973
7. TECHNOLOGY
‘Developing Imagineers,
Nurturing Problem Solvers’ DavidCluley
Technology is nothing. What’s important is that you have a faith in people, that
they’re basically good and smart, and if you give them tools, they’ll do
wonderful things with them.
–Steve Jobs
