2. I visited Kashmir in first week of October, 2011. I didn’t
get to see the famous Tulip Gardens as they bloom
around April. It was still quite beautiful and the flowers
were so bright, I couldn’t help but click them!!

4. Manasbal Lake is about 35 minutes
car drive from Srinagar. It is a serene
and quiet lake away from the tourists.
The water is clear so we can see the
green fauna on the lake bed.
Shikaras are available here. An hours
Shikara ride away is the confluence of
this lake with river Jhelum!

8. Srinagar has many gardens in its
vicinity built by the Mughals. These
gardens have fountains, bright
flowers, Chinar trees and can be a
lovely picnic spot.
During peak tourist season and
holidays these are very crowded.

17. Chashmeshahi is where a small spring of
water pours out. It is said to be
miraculous, healing water.
It seems Indira Gandhi during her
ruling times used to get this water daily
via helicopter from Chashmeshahi, and
had only this water!
