The reason I have chosen her is because she holds similar qualities to Monica (right) in my film opening.
Similarities
Lisa and Monica have similar roles whereby they go to all extents to steal another woman’s husband.
Obsessed and Fixation are both set within a working environment therefore; the character’s are dressed in smart attire. However; in hope to allure their male targets dress becomes slightly provocative.
Lisa is a white blue-eyed, blonde haired female, roughly about 5’8 and of slim build. Monica is a brown skinned, black woman approximately 5’5, and has a slender body shape. Her hair is mid length and has a straightened, smooth appearance.
Lisa and Monica both appear quite overbearing, fiery and bold.
-34290244475
The above photograph shows actress Sian Reeves who plays part of Sally Spode in the T.V drama Emmerdale. Although this is a T.V drama the same narrative was used therefore; in this felt it was suitable in this case.
Monica and Sally again are of similar roles whereby, they are a woman scorned, who sets their sights on a man who married attempting various tactics to win their affection. However; there are a few differences between these two characters to include:
Sally is rather dull and dreary whereas Monica has more sex appeal. I found this to be rather unconventional as the characters that play these types of roles are usually striking and desirable however; as they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Further to add, it is a pleasure to see that this T.V drama has broke the stereotype of characters who play this type of role as not to degrade the role of women.
Sally was a former girlfriend of her love rival however; Monica’s was a love at first sight. The reason I chose to conform to these conventions was purely because I wanted it to be believable and authentic for the audience.
When concluding this evaluation task I would say that Fixation represents women as being quite domineering, sexy and malicious. Reason being it makes a change from the conventional stereo typical role whereby, the male is seducing the female. My intentions were not to present women negatively however; I wanted to show that women can just be as cunning men. I am aware that not all women are like this however; given the limited time frame it would have been unfeasible to represent all the different types of women. In addition, as my target audience is varied I wanted to make something that was enjoyable for all.
