1. The title is big and bold, with the lines
centered . The metal rendering of the
font adds to the Sci-Fi look if the
poser, and the yellow colour looks
hot and dangerous. “Catching Fire” is
bigger then the main title of the
“hunger Games”, which suggests this
poster means to pull in more viewers
who were not previously fans of the
series.
Again the three focuses are the main
character, the movie title, and the
tagline. Even though the film title is
bigger and more
prominent here,
the protagonist
still seems to
be the main
focus, as she is
enclosed in a
metal circle,
drawing the eye
and creating a sort
of bullseye point.
Even though the focus is on the
character, there is still no actor credit.
This is to do with the rising popularity
of both the actor and the character.
Any given view of the poster would
recognize one or the other.
The Sci-Fi genre is a bit more on
display here, with the poster being
full of metal and fire, and her cloths
being more alien. This also
symbolizes the rebellion themes of
the film an makes it look dangerous
and action packed. This evokes
action film posters and their style of
putting explosions in the background.
The stark contrast of the vivid red
and black creates a very aggressive
image that draws the eye. It also
shows a dark tone for the film.
The tagline carries on the theme
of rebellion, and also adds to the
aggressive mood of the poster. It
also evokes Action films and
maybe even Superhero films in
the viewers mind, saying that in
this film there will be an enemy,
the bad guy, who will be fought.
