  3. KEY MESSAGE : Sprint is an innovative and service-focused provider that offers a full range of wireless and wireline communications services that deliver the freedom of mobility to customers. TALKING POINTS: Sprint ranks #58 on FORTUNE Magazine’s 2008 list which ranks America’s largest corporations (based on annual revenues). Sprint is one of the world’s largest retailers. Network Facts: Our wireless networks are operating at their best-ever levels since the merger. The Nationwide Sprint Network reaches more than 299 million people in the U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Sprint Mobile Broadband Network is the nation’s most dependable 3G mobile broadband network that covers more square miles, cities and airports than any other carrier Sprint serves the world’s largest push-to-talk community with millions of Nextel Direct Connect subscribers on the fastest national push-to-talk network (connection speeds of less than 1 second) 100% Cisco Powered Global IP Backbone - provides IP and MPLS services outside of the United States and is capable of reaching 137 countries. Our global IP network is so highly reliable and secure that we move money for key financial institutions and many agencies of the U.S. Government rely on the Sprint IP network. Network investments: Over the past few years, we’ve invested billions in both the Nextel National Network and the Sprint Mobile Broadband Network (where we’re aggressively adding Nextel Direct Connect on the Rev A. network). This investment includes thousands of additional cell sites to help with our goal of ensuring excellent coverage. During 2006 and 2007, Sprint invested $1.4 billion in our wireline network. For 2008, we have invested $1.5 billion in our wireless networks and $342 million in our wireline network. Other points (not on slide) Sprint generated full-year 2007 consolidated revenues of $40 billion, compared to $41 billion for the previous year. Sprint had 50.5 million total wireless subscribers at the end of 3Q08. Sprint is one of the Kansas City’s largest private employers and the largest locally based public company Dan Hesse, Sprint President and CEO, was named the most influential person in mobile technology by Laptop Magazine in 2008 (#2 was Steve Jobs of Apple). Dan Hesse was also recently listed as one of the Top 5 “movers and shakers” in the industry by Fierce Wireless. TRANSITION: Our overall market strength further illustrates our leadership.

TALKING POINTS: $3.7B cash, $5.1 total liquidity*, 4Q 2008 2009 Guidance: Expect full-year capital expenditures to be consistent with 2008 levels Expect to continue to generate positive Free Cash Flow Customer Churn and Revenue: Industry leading CDMA annual revenue per user (ARPU) CDMA data ARPU grew by 21% year over year Full year IP revenue grew by 36% Only major carrier with year over year postpaid churn improvement Financial Performance: $536M in free cash flow in 4Q 2008 Reduced debt by $2B during 2H 2008 $3.7B and $5.1 in total liquidity 4Q 2008 Current borrowing capacity of $1.4B Cash reserves exceed debt obligations through 2010 Industry Leading Wireline Growth: Internet revenues increased 37% from the year-ago period due to strong enterprise demand for Global MPLS services and the increasing base of cable subscribers who utilize our VoIP services. Internet revenues as a percent of Wireline revenue have increased from 25% to 35% year-over-year. At the end of the third quarter, the company had more than 4 million users of cable partner VoIP services. These services are currently available to more than 30 million MSO households. TRANSITION: In addition to our overall market strength, we have a rich history of leadership within the telecommunications industry.

In 2007, Sprint employees were granted more patents than Apple, Dell, Bayer, MIT and Verizon! Sprint was in the top 100 (#89) on the 2008 InformationWeek list that annually recognizes the top 500 companies that best represent excellence in innovation and business technology leadership. For over 100 years, Sprint has been a game-changing force in creating and delivering groundbreaking IP and wireless technologies and mobility solutions. This slide represents just a few key milestones in our corporate history where we have led the market with technical innovation. Palm Pre: Expected in 1H2009, the Palm Pre coordinates multiple calendars and contacts, giving customers what they need in one place. With Palm webOS and an innovative interface, the Palm Pre won Best in Show at CES from magazine editors and “People’s Voice” award as voted by 10,000 members. Sprint 3G/4G USB Modem U300: This dual-mode modem connects to both 3G and 4G networks. Sprint is the first and only national wireless carrier to offer 4G service. BlackBerry Curve 8350i smartphone: The only smartphone equipped with Nextel Direct Connect to connect instantly with people and information like never before Novatel MiFi: Small enough to fit a pocket, the MiFi is a 3G router and mobile WiFi hotspot ideal for mobile workgroups or facilities. TRANSITION: While we’re excited about products, our business customers are our focus.

TALKING POINTS: Based on independent third party drive tests, there is an imperceptible difference between the dropped call rates of the four major U.S. wireless carriers – less than 1% as of November 2008 Network Performance Our overall voice quality and network performance, measured internally by dropped and blocked calls, is at best-ever levels on both of Sprint’s wireless networks as of Dec. 2008. iDEN Reliability On the Nextel National Network, customer tickets related to dropped and blocked calls, and voice quality combined, have decreased approximately 80 percent year-over-year, resulting in a more reliable calling experience for customers Connections over 99% - Customer calls on the Nextel National Network are successfully connected and maintained better than 99 out of 100 times . Sprint serves the world’s largest push-to-talk community with millions of Nextel Direct Connect subscribers on the fastest national push-to-talk network. Sprint leads the competition in 3G Data Network Reliability. This claim is based on independent, third-party drive-test data on connection success, session reliability and signal strength for the top 50 most populous markets, April 2008 to Sept. 2008. Atlantic-ACM, a well-respected communications consultant – Sprint’s network number one for wholesale data quality CIO Insight magazine recently recognized Sprint as the top wireless vendor to business for value. Other (not in slide bullets): We allow non-carrier-branded devices to operate on the Sprint network via MVNO partners with millions of subscribers and through a host of third-party relationships with partners that embed CDMA technology in their products (e.g., Amazon's Kindle). Sprint is also a founding member of the Open Handset Alliance (OHA), along with Google and more than 30 other companies that support the free and open mobile applications platform named Android; OHA membership enables Sprint to further enhance and personalize the mobile experience for customers over time. KEY MESSAGE: Our customer satisfaction levels have reached an all-time high… TALKING POINTS: Sprint shows the most improvement of any U.S. carrier in 2008 – satisfaction levels surpassed T-Mobile and AT&T Satisfaction with Business Assigned Rep reached all-time high of 93% in Dec Retail Stores: Retail customer satisfaction at best-ever levels, topping 90% in Dec In 2008 we launched Ready Now, a program which provides hands-on training for customers before they leave the store with a new device and it’s making a big difference. In December, for the first time, overall satisfaction in terms of being “very and extremely satisfied,” topped 90 percent at Sprint Retail. That’s also another all-time high. Customer Care Calls: Call Volumes: Due to a variety of improvements in customer experience, we’ve seen a reduction in calls to Customer Care per subscriber this year. In addition, first-call resolution and overall customer satisfaction has improved each and every month sequentially in 2008. First Call Resolution best since 2005 Average Speed to Answer best since 2005 Call Abandon Rates best in over a year (Call-out on side) Response Time: According to an independent third party analyst, Sprint jumped to 1 st place for customer response time in the industry in the 3rd quarter of 2008, answering 90% of customer calls in 30 seconds or less. an independent third party analyst, which measures service levels and how quickly phones were answered, stated that Sprint was now number one in that metric, rocketing from “worst to first” in one quarter (between the second quarter and third quarter of 2008). Service and Repair: According to the KS&R Market Research Report, Sprint recently made the most progress of any carrier in America in Service & Repair satisfaction based on a survey of customers who’d had a recent experience with Service & Repair – moving ahead of both T-Mobile and AT&T.
