This document outlines four levels of geographic analysis: level 1 involves basic questions of what, where, when and scale; level 2 identifies patterns; level 3 examines why and how phenomena occur in certain locations; level 4 applies analysis to consider implications and impacts. It also discusses scale from global to local and an ESPN framework for analyzing topics through economic, social, political and natural/environmental lenses.
