2. Light Relief, the autumn/winter exhibitions season has
been curated by Antoinette Burchill in collaboration
with the Hidden Histories project for air arts.
“Light Relief explores the different ways light is used by
artists in their work. Whether it is the process of
creating the artwork, a symbolic beacon or physical
structure.
Working with the Hidden Histories archive the Light
Relief exhibitions re-position historical objects used in
clinical practice to reflect and compliment the art works.
The season forms a trail across Royal Derby Hospital
which we hope illustrates how we need both light, and
light relief in our everyday lives.”
