5. Pros and Cons
Video calls can be quite smooth if both sides are
connecting from faultless access points.
Tango is just so plain and simple that smart phones
can probably use it without much problems.
Video quality is uneven.
Long delays and poor voice-syncing in video calls.
6. Video Calling and Performance
As with other video calling software,
video and audio quality are rather good when both
parties using a strong Wi-Fi access point
video quality on Tango is a good deal better than
on Fring
Voice-only calls fared better
7. Any teaching merits?
If there is a solid and high speed connection
could be used for :
listening ( e.g. live connection with a native speaker or
someone fluent in English)
giving a lecture on a topic by an expert
Practicing speaking
Practicing short sentence writing through free messages
8. My personal experience
Once I used it in my MS class:
For the first 10 minutes it was fine.
Then the quality of the sound changed
Gradually it became useless.
Although it was only useful for 10 minutes, the
students liked it very much and it was a fairly good
experience.
