1. I have over 11 years experience in the social services field, in particular child welfare as it
pertains to Kinship Care, case management and substance abuse treatment
My present job in child welfare includes many of the specific job duties listed on the website job
description. I presently work in a child abuse prevention program at Kids Central, Inc. This
agency is a private non-profit agency that is contracted with the State of Florida’s Department of
Children and Families to provide child welfare services to children that have been or are in
jeopardy of abuse or neglect.
I am able to provide high level staff support. I also have experience conducting research on
individuals and possible funding opportunities for fundraising goals.
Presently, I have extensive experience and training in conflict resolution, facilitation of relative
caregiver support groups and teaching parenting programs. I work extremely well with random
people from all socio-economic and educational backgrounds. As you will also notice in my
resume, I assisted in developing and implementing policies and procedures for the current
Kinship Care Program with my present employer, Kids Central, Inc. I also have experience in
data collection, research and reporting requirements for grants and funding sources. I have
excellent written and oral communication skills. I am very organized and I have excellent time
management skills.
I would like to relocate and will transfer to the Washington D.C. area as I have a love for that
particular area and as soon as I secure employment.
Serving children and families has been my passion for many years. It is a rewarding career and
has served as an awe-inspiring experience for me. My passion lies in the fact that these families
that need help so desperately, are able to be served and helped to make a lasting impact in their
lives.
