2. How to build garage shelves? My goal is to teach people how to build shelves as instructional step by step process I will use information from Technical communications 21st century and I will be using PSA.
3. Plan Things you will need to build your garage shelves: Shelving wood 1 inch Phillips head screws Electric screwdriver or hand Phillips screwdriver Brackets Tape measurer Level Pencil
4. Research You will need to research Determine the quantity and quality of the wood you will be using for the shelves by researching the various products provided at Home Depot, Lowe’s, etc. It is also essential to determine the correct dimensions of the wood to allow room for the bins and boxes being stored.
5. Draft Select the brackets being used to mount to the wall and support the wooden shelves. Identify how many brackets will be used which may vary depending on the type of brackets you select. Use the measuring tape and a pencil to draw a line at the location of where you would like your shelves placed while also using a level to ensure that the shelves are straight once mounted. Identify where the studs are in your wall, usually every couple of feet. This is where your brackets will need to be mounted. Using your 1 inch screws and screwdriver, mount the brackets of your choice to the wall using the line you’ve just drawn as a guide. The top of the brackets should be placed just below that line.
6. Review Place the wood on the brackets making sure that it lies flush and snug to the wall. Secure the shelves in place on the brackets with 1⁄2 inch screws.
7. Distribute I want this to be published as instruction video. Also in a manual booklet.
