Doctor Who Added to Madison Who's Who directory?

Dr. Frank J. Boutin Sr, MD, orthopedic surgeon for Sacramento Knee & Sports Medicine, has been
recognized by Madison Who’s Who.
A medical professional with over a half century of experience in the field of medicine, Dr. Boutin specializes
in orthopedic surgery. While he has held prestigious positions in medical facilities all along the US west
coast (including a post-WWII Army Medical Corps service), the doctor is currently practicing at Sacramento
Knee & Sports Medicine.
An academic as well as a professional, Dr. Boutin spent the early 50s in teaching positions at both Stanford
and the University of California Davis before moving into private practice. Since 1953, he has been engaged
in private practice through associations with numerous hospitals, universities, and executive boards,
including Mercy Hospital ñ Sacramento, UC Davis Medical School, and Sutter Community Hospitals.
Throughout his career, Dr. Boutin has been on the cutting edge of now-common medical techniques,
including modern hand surgery, the use of autotransfusion before surgery (using a patient’s own blood to
increase reserves), and a myriad of spinal procedures.
In addition to his professional responsibilities, Dr. Boutin is also a dedicated member of his community,
associating with the Sacramento Crippled Children Committee and the Rotary Club.
As a family man, Dr. Boutin is a 64 year husband to Charlotte, father of six, grandfather of fifteen and great-
grandfather of two. In his personal time, he enjoys golf, genealogy, and travel.
