In this presentation, Limecraft CEO Maarten Verwaest explains the state of the art of AI for subtitling. He discusses the technologies for Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) required to turn audio into well formed subtitles. Capitalising on the results of the Horizon2020 project Memad (memad.eu) and illustrated by a number of successful deployments, including The Associated Press and ITV, he discusses the key success factors and acceptance criteria to save 80% of the cost and time compared to conventional methods.

There's no doubt Artificial Intelligence can have a lot of business value for producers and distributors of Audiovisual Content. However, AI is an instrument and not a solution on its own. To cope with inaccuracies and inconsistencies, data has to be post-processed and presented in a proper user interface. In this presentation, we discuss how to apply AI solution in media production workflows. Presented at the ABU conference in Kuala Lumpur on March 5th, 2020.

Limecraft Flow is a workflow solution used by producers and post facilities of all sizes to automate production workflows. In this presentation, we explain how you can use machine transcription, automatic spotting and machine translation to automate the processes of same-language and language-to-language subtitling. By using Limecraft Flow, producers and distributors add different languages at marginal cost, thereby significantly increasing their potential audience while retaining all the rights over their content. Presented at CineEurope in Barcelona on June, 18th 2019.

Modern media production requires shorter cycle times, and Artificial Intelligence to personalise content and to add interactive layers on top of the video. Producers worldwide use Limecraft Flow to streamline their production workflow and to automate clerical tasks like ingesting, transcription and logging, and subtitling. Presented at MediaMatters 2018 (mediamatters.vc).

Using modern technology, producers of audio-visual content can significantly increase their productivity. In this presentation, you will learn how producers of factual content use Limecraft Flow to avoid excessive file transfers and to reduce clerical work. Limecraft Flow is an online platform for collaborative video production. It is used by reporters, documentary makers, directors or editors to easily share material. Using Flow, they have their production in their hands.

Using modern technology, producers of audio-visual content increase their productivity and executive producers get more value for money. However, conventional technology is expensive and can be hard to get for independent producers. In this presentation you will learn how independent and institutional producers use cloud technology to optimise their workflow.

Current media production best practices are based on craftsanship. A semantic technology enables a model-driven approach, which enables producers accessing new distribution channels, to offer personalised services and to explore new markets. Limecraft provides a media production platform based on a semantic integration platform that addresses these needs. This presentation discussed the value added of semantic technology throughout the media production process.

The solution space for professional media producers is fundamentally changing, as well as the requirements induced by the market. Media have to be available on any device, by non-linear distribution and preferably in high-definition. These requirements translate to the back-office that has to become more agile and to scale out, while improving in terms of performance and stability. Since it is not probable that conventional IT nor media technology suppliers will be able to take this hurdle - because they can't manage the complexity or because they are not allowed to do so by their shareholders, there is an opportunity for newcomers able to provide a solution.

The ultimate radio experience, apart from offering an excellent quality on any mobile and portable platform, gives the control back to the listener. By enabling pauze, back and forward buttons, the boundaries between live and on demand will disappear. Audio segmentation and indexing are the key to a radio search engine, personalisation, etc.
