Intended participants: NGO Programme staff who work with gender as a cross cutting issue. All participants receive a

Objective:
The training workshop seeks to provide participants with an overview of core gender concepts, basic gender analysis tools,
how to deal with resistance to gender among counterparts, and strategies to keep gender on the agenda. The workshop will
move beyond theory to apply in practical and useful ways gender analysis and gender sensitive strategies to your organiza-
tion and its programmes and projects.
Workshop Trainers:
Dr. Rebecca Miller is the Gender and Social Protection Specialist with the Research Communications Group (RCG) as well
as a Research Associate with the University of Auckland in New Zealand. In addition to teaching a postgraduate course in
Gender and Development, Rebecca has over 13 years professional experience in training and facilitation, policy analysis
and development, strategic planning, research and evaluation, project management, and stakeholder management.
Ms. Que Nguyen is a Gender and Communications Specialist and associate with the Research Communications Group
(RCG). She is also a social worker, freelance consultant and journalist. With more than 10 years experience in training and
facilitation, together with Rebecca Miller, Que has designed and successfully delivered numerous gender mainstreaming
training workshops for UN agencies and NGOs in Vietnam. Que and Rebecca’s trainings have been appreciated by
participants for the theoretical knowledge, as well as skills for practical application.
