Nutrition plays a vital role in the correct management of your
Diabetes.
For a successful management of your Diabetes it is
recommended that your meals be:
• Regular and Spread Evenly throughout the day.
• Be based around high fibre carbohydrate food eg:
wholegrain Bread, Cereals and Vegetables.
• Low in fat, particularly saturated fat.
Carbohydrates are the best form of energy source for
Diabetics, it is important to eat regular meals with evenly
balanced Carbohydrates with each meal.
Low Gi ( Glycemic Index) foods will break down more
gradually into Glucose into your bloodstream. This gradual
process will assist you in maintaining suitable Blood Sugar
Levels.
Not eating regular meals can produce high Blood Sugar levels,
which left untreated can have detrimental effects to your long
and short term health.
