1. Dr. Kazi Golam Faruk was born in a noble family of Madaripur district,
Bangladesh on 10
th
December 1969. After passing HSC, he joined
Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA) in 1988, undergone two years rigorous
military training and was commissioned as Second Lieutenant in Bangladesh
Army in 1990. He graduated himself from Chittagong University
(Bangladesh) during his BMA period. He has served about 20 years in the
army and retired voluntarily as Major. During his military tenure, he has
undergone number of courses both at home and abroad. Besides, he has
completed LLB from University of Information Technology and Science, MBA
from Trinity University, USA (Chittagong Study Center), and PhD in HRM
from Preston University, USA.
In his long tour of duties (more than 25 years), Dr. Faruk has gained
experiences in operational leadership, HRM, administration, security,
organizational development etc. through different challenging situation. He
has vast experiences in all facets of HR operations and Security.
Dr. Faruk held a number of Command and Staff appointments at home and
abroad. He worked twice in United Nations (UNIKOM and UNMIS) for more
than two years. He has number of research and publications those have been
2. published in different national and international dailies/ magazines as well as
book. His written “HRM System for Garment Industries of Bangladesh
Highlighting the Labor Legislation” has created a spark of light in Bangladesh
RMG sector. Presently the officer is serving as Deputy General Manager-Staff
Development of KAFCO (a multi-national company) and leading the section.
Prior to this, he led Plant HR operations of KAFCO for approximately 04
years. Dr. Faruk also worked in SQUARE, a reputed conglomerate of
Bangladesh.
