This document discusses the role of teachers and how schools can impact students' social and academic lives. It states that schools are places where students express factors from their social environments and that teachers must understand each student's context. To do so, teachers should have conversations with students to learn about their lives outside of school and see classrooms as representations of real life. The teacher's role is to change students' views of the world by accepting, respecting, and loving each student while also contextualizing lessons and using rewards like candy or meals out to encourage learning.
2. This film shows that
the school is not just
a place to impart
knowledge but also
where students
express and manifest
what affects their
social and family
environment,. Also,
show us how those
factors affect in the
social and academic
life.
3. For that, we
have to see the
classroom as a
representation of
the real life
4. How many times we
sit down to talk with
our students to know
how is the context
around them
6. First we as teachers must be dedicated and
we have an important challenge that is to
change our students ideas of the
persuasion of the world. We have to take
into account that we are educating human
beings and we have to accept, respect and
love each other.
7. For teaching teacher uses
some strategies like make
a relationship between the
content and the students’
daily life so, teacher in
that way is contextualizing
the content in order to
have meaningful learning
for example when she
uses the poems related
with the death that is
something they see and
live in the daily life.
8. Teacher takes into
account students likes
and for example she
tells them "I am a U.S.
Marine. Anybody know
any karate?" They do,
but mostly from kung-fu
movies, and after she
has thrown a couple of
the kids, she gets their
attention
9. She bribes them with candy bars, having a
dinner in a nice restaurant and we can see
that teacher takes advantage of this
situations to involve them in the learning
process making that learning enjoyable.
