California, there are many mountains and
rock formations due to the slipping and
movement of tectonic plates
In Southern California there is a history of the
presence of Pliocene and Pleistocene
sediments in the Elsinore fault zone.

9. Northern California:
◦ The Oakland hills were formed by the Hayward fault
and the slips
Southern California:
◦ Riverside, Ca lies right in between the San Jacinto
and Elsinore faults (Southern California Faults)
10. This is a timeline of recorded and dated
earthquakes on the Hayward fault. These rocks
and mountains date back thousands of years!
