20 years ago, I began my career as a rookie recruiter in a family business. We conducted retained and contingent searches by making placements using stacks of application cards, faxed resumes, and notes stored in overflowing filing cabinets. We built a substantial business relying on the expertise of outstanding recruiters and a disorganized, but valuable network that no one else could compete with.
Then LinkedIn came along.
While my knowledge and experience has grown, so has the world’s access to my previously sacred stash of resumes. In response, our firm has taken a new approach to search that eliminates the inherent ills found in traditional search models: their selfish emphasis on.
