At this store, only faceless mannequins are used. When asked why, the
manager explained that it had to do with avoiding racism issues. Should they
also use faceless people in advertisement to avoid racism and biased beauty
concepts?
4. SPORT APPARELS ON WHEELS
Hadn’t realized before that at this sport store all clothing apparels are
movable. A customer could actually move one closer to the changing stalls so
that it is easier to try different items!
5. REFLECTING LIGHTING
This store uses reflective lighting as a way to cut down on energy use. This
could be transfer to other stores so that they can save on energy as well.
Moreover, it opens a door to a whole new world of interior design.
6. EMERGENCY NUMBERS
It is mandatory for all stores to keep this emergency numbers sign visible at all
times. Yet, in most stores, this sign was very difficult to find or was not
available at all.. Would it be better for the store to send all this data to mobile
devices automatically?
7. PRODUCT OF THE DAY
In this store the product of the day is showcased almost at the ceiling! Clerks
actually have to glue all the boxes together and stick them on the wall at night
when the store is closed (they use a long ladder and lots of patience to
accomplish this.) Wouldn t it be better to place monitors or lcds up there to
display such products?
8. DOES IT SMELL OF SPRING?
In this store, clerks make sure (like every 5 minutes) everything smells like
spring.. Yet, there is not one single flower or plant to be seen..
