Day 1/21 Dec: Hanoi arrival (...)
Hanoi is the second largest city of Vietnam with total population of over 6 million people. As the
capital of Vietnam for almost a thousand years, the enchanting Hanoi is considered to be one of
cultural centers of Vietnam, where most of Vietnamese dynasties had left behind their imprint.
Even though some relics have not survived through wars and time, the city still has many
interesting cultural and historic monuments for visitors and residents alike.
Our tour starts with pickup at the airport. Transfer to your hotel in Hanoi and free for your
personal activities.

Day 2/22 Dec: Hanoi City tour (B/L)
Be ready at the lobby at 8am for the bus.
Today, we will spend a full day to visit the city. We start with visit to President Ho Chi Minh's
mausoleum and residence. We also visit the famous One Pillar Pagoda nearby. Leaving the
President's complex, we continue to visit the Temple of Literature (Văn Miếu). Although several
Văn Miếu can be found throughout Vietnam, the most prominent and famous is that situated in the
city of Hanoi, and was functioned as Vietnam's first university
After lunch in a local restaurant, we go to the Museum of Ethnology, which is an excellent museum
containing the ethnic costumes of the various minorities of Vietnam, as well as relics, tools and
even full size replicas of their homes and buildings.
Back to the hotel. Free and easy for personal activities.

Day 3/23 Dec: Hanoi – Halong Bay (B/L/D)
Halong Bay has twice been recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage Area for its
exceptional scenic beauty and outstanding geological and geomorphic values. Thousands of islands
emerging uneven in the fanciful waves look strong and magnificent but also mild and vivid. Amidst
these islands, we feel as if we were astray in a petrified legendary world.

2. 12.15 pm: Arrive in Halong city, board our traditional wooden junk boat for an overnight journey.
Sip on a refreshing welcome drink upon check in before you begin the cruise through the bay.
Feast on a delicious lunch as you cruise among hundreds of islets (Dinh Huong islet, Ga Choi –
Fighting Cock islet, Dog islet, Finger islet, etc.) to discover untouched pockets of Halong Bay and
visit Sung Sot cave, which is situated in the centre of the UNESCO-declared World Heritage area
and is one of the most imposing grottos of the Bay. You will then have chance to explore Halong
bay on your own by kayaking from the Soi Sim beach to Luon Cave to enjoy the quite atmosphere
of the bay. We will have dinner with fresh seafood on board then free time for squid fishing or
relaxing and chatting with your partner, friends, family.

Day 4/24 Dec: Halong - Hanoi - Hue (flight) (B, L)
7.00am: For early risers complimentary tea, coffee, fruit and cake are served. Enjoy Sunrise on
the Bay or practice Tai Chi lesson with our professional (this is not included with standard and
superior options). Continue to explore the Bay.
8.00am: Sail past rock formations such as Man’s Head islet, Tortoise islet, Butterfly cave, Lion
islet, Bai Tho mountain, enjoy the tranquil scenery as the boat meanders its way through the bay
on the way back to Halong city, etc. Arrange your luggage and do the check out onboard at around
9.00 am. Enjoy a wholesome brunch as your boat weaves through strange-shaped limestone rock
formations.
11.45am: Arrive back at Halong city for disembarkation where your driver waits to take you back
to your Hanoi. Free time for your personal activities and dinner before pickup for flight to Hue.

Day 5/25 Dec: Hue city tour - Hoian (B)
Hue is the former capital of Vietnam under the Nguyen dynasty (1802 - 1945). Here remains many
historical buildings. Inside the city are the Royal Citadel, Flag Tower, Royal Palace, and Royal
Tombs. Hue’s Forbidden Purple City was once reserved for the royal family; it was severely
damaged during the War. Outside the city is the religious site known as Nam Giao Hill, or Heaven’s
Altar.
Today, you are picked at the hotel for full day tour. Our visiting sites include Old Imperial City,
Flag Tower, Thien Mu Pagoda, Royal Tombs of Tu Duc.
Transfer to Hoian by private car. Arrive Hoian at night.

Day 6/26 Dec: Hoi An (B)
The ancient town of Hoi An was originally a Cham port. The city possessed the largest harbor in
Southeast Asia in the first century and was known as Lâm Ấp Phố (Champa City). It has been
influenced down the centuries by a myriad of traders from various cultures.
You are free for personal activities today. You can take a walking tour to visit the ancient town
with all major interesting sites: Ong Pagoda, Hoi An Museum, Japanese Covered Bridge, Tan Ky
Old House, Assembly Hall of Cantonese Chinese Congregation.

Day 7/27 Dec: Hoi An - My Son (B)
3. Pickup at the hotel at 8am for transfer to My Son Holy Land, a World Heritage, 50 km southwest of
Hoi An. Located in a lush valley, My Son was a capital and religious center of Cham people, now
remaining with red brick towers and sanctuaries. My Son, considered to be in the same league as
some of Southeast Asia's greatest archaeological sites, including Angkor in Cambodia, Bagan in
Myanmar, Ayutthaya in Thailand and Borobudur in Indonesia. These towers and sanctuaries was
built from the 7 to 13 centuries.
Back to the town in the afternoon. Free for personal activities.

Day 8/28 Dec: Hoian - Saigon (flight) (B)
Free for till pickup for the flight to Saigon.
Pickup at the hotel at 13:30, we take a half day city tour to visit Saigon city. We will start with
visit to Former Presidential Palace (or War Remnant Museum), Notre Dame Cathedral, which is
located in the downtown and established by French colonists. The cathedral was constructed
between 1863 and 1880 with two bell towers, reaching a height of 58 meters.

Day 9/29 Dec: Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnels - Cao Dai Temple (B)
We will start from your hotel to visit the Cao Dai Temple in Tay Ninh (120 km) where daily Mass is
done by the Caodaism followers at noon. Cao Dai is a combination of Buddhism, Confucianism,
Taoism, native Vietnamese spiritualism, Christianity and Islam. After lunch, we head to Cu Chi
Tunnels. The tunnels cover an extensive underground network (approximately 200 kilometers) of
tunnels dug initially by the Viet Minh and later expanded by the Viet Cong. The tunnels contained
hospitals, plus accommodation and schools, and were used extensively for refuge and storage and
also utilized as a military base for the Viet Cong close to Saigon. The 1968 Tet Offensive was
launched from Cu Chi with surprising effect. A section of the tunnels has been widened to allow
tourists to get a feel for what the life underground must have been like (please note that this will
be hot and sweaty and also a bit claustrophobic!).

Day 10/30 Dec: Hochiminh - My Tho - Ben Tre - Can Tho (B/L)
Leave Ho Chi Minh city, enjoy the scenic journey along the National Highway bordered by green
rice fields. On arrival at My Tho, visit Vinh Trang pagoda, take a leisurely boat ride along the river,
view stilt houses, fruit plantations and fishing villages along the river bank. Proceed to Tortoise
islet, have lunch in the orchard garden. Then a boat ride to An Khanh – a less touristy attraction in
Ben Tre, enjoy cruising on a hand-rowed sampan under the shade of water coconut trees along
natural canals. Have a short cycling tour (applied for private tour/if time permitted) then enjoy
seasonal fruit & honey tea to the sound of "Southern Vietnamese folk music", performed by the
locals. Visit a family business which epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle, taste delicious coconut
candy & observe the pastoral life as you roam through the fruit plantations and villages. Proceed
to Can Tho. Overnight in the hotel (family home-stay with dinner can be arranged on request).

Day 11/31 Dec: Can Tho - Long Xuyen - Chau Doc (B)
4. Take a leisurely boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong river (Bassac
River), then proceed to Cai Rang floating markets (& Phong Dien is optional), which are the
liveliest in the whole religion.
Have you ever tasted Vietnamese vermicelli soup? Well, now go and see how it is made. Then
wander around the village and meet the friendly local people and experience how to pass a
"Monkey bridge" which is built by only o¬ne stem of bamboo. Visit the orchard garden. Stop for
lunch. Proceed to Chau Doc via Long Xuyen to visit the crocodile farm. Check in o¬n arriving in
Chau Doc. Admire the landscape from the Sam Mountain summit down the Vietnamese -
Cambodian border, visit the Caved pagoda. Overnight in Chau Doc.
Day 12/1 Jan: Chau Doc - Phnom Penh (B)
After breakfast, you are transfer to the pier for speedy boat from Chau Doc to Phnom Penh. Upon
arrival, we visit Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda - the most sacred shrine in the country. The next
stop of our trip is the National Museum, exclusively dedicated to Khmer art and sculpture. The
majority of the exhibits are from the Angkor period from 9th to 15th centuries, but some date
from as early as the 4th century.

Day 13/2 Jan: Phnom Penh – Siem Reap (B)

Day 14/3 Jan: Siem Reap – Angkor discovery (B)
In the morning visit the South Gate, Angkor Thom, This Royal city was first built under the reign of
Udayadityavarman II in the 11th Century, the famous Bayon Temple – this temple mountain built
by Jayavarman VII is situated in the centre of the city of Angkor Thom. It is a three -tiered pyramid
with its entrance facing east. The central shrine is surrounded by 54 towers all crowned by gigantic
faces, representing Lokiteshvara but with the features of Jayavarman VII, Baphuon - This temple
built by Udayadityarvarman II was the most poorly constructed of all the temples in Angkor.
Phimean Akas – this temple constructed late 10th – early 11th century by Jayavarman V.
Elephants and Leper King Terraces. The first owes its name to the outstanding depiction of
elephants, while the second gets its name from the magnificent sculpture of King Yasovarman,
popularly known as the Leper King.
In the afternoon visit one of 7 wonders of the world "Angkor Wat" early – mid 12th by King
Soryavarman II. The temple is one of the largest monuments to religion ever built and is truly one
the wonders of the world. Believed to have been constructed as a temple and mausoleum for King
Suryavarman II at the peak of the Khmer empire in the first half of the 12th century, Angkor Wat
is probably the best-preserved of the Angkorean temples. And then watches sunset view from the
top of Phnom Bakheng.
