Neck pain is typically caused by the intervertebral
discs deteriorating due to genetic and age-related
issues, as well as everyday wear and tear.

3. Cervical Spine Injuries
 As they become compressed or dried out, the
dense, fibrous outer ring of the disc, annulus
fibrosis, can impinge on the nucleus pulposus,
a gel-like area at the center of the disc. Disc
degeneration may also cause bone spurs and
the narrowing of the passageway that allows
nerves to leave the spine (spinal stenosis).
When the spinal cord or nerve root are
impinged, symptoms occur such as numbness,
pain, and loss of coordination.
