2. Introducing Hi, here we will learn about Voltaic Element. And here our main chapter : ~ history of Alessandro Volta ~ what’s voltaic cell ~ what’s consist of voltaic cell and how to work
3. History of Alessandro Volta A few years earlier, Volta, formulated a different law to quantify electrical phenomena, probably based on equilibrium principles and on an analogy with Boyle’s pressure law. Volta was able to define his own theoretical terms and to invent a suitable instrument: the electrometer.
4. Voltaic Element Voltaic Element is one of premiere element. Voltaic Element has same function with battery. But now we can’t find it. Cause Voltaic Element just make a lamp turn on for view minutes. But battery can make it turn on for long time. Ok, now we will learn how to use and how voltaic element work. Here it is…
6. Consist of Voltaic element Voltaic element consist of some part. There are : # a glass jar that contains sulfuric acid (H2SO4) solution as an electrolytic solution # plate zinc (Zn) as Anode # copper plate (Cu) as Cathode
7. how to work Alessandro Volta find that certain pair of metal can raise the electromotive force. electromotive force that cause electric current flow to the circuit, to understand workings of Voltaic element please attention to this animation.
8. If the copper plate and zinc plate to connected with copper wire through a small lamp, so the lamp will turn on. The lamp just turn on for a while and then will dim and turn off. How could it happen?
9. the death of small lamp in this phenomenon called polarization in the one of plate element. Polarization is the process sticking of hydrogen gas bubbles in the copper plate. So, the hydrogen gas bubbles covered copper plate and hamper electric current, so the small lamp will death.
10. How to make the small lamp turn on? If we clean up the bubbles, the lamp will turn on again. The voltaic cell is not suitable for every day use due to the polarization.
