Why is this important “ We the people of the United States in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this constitution for the United States of America.”
  • 2. Geographic Diversity a Factor in Presidential Race
    • The U.S. Constitution states that a presidential candidate must be at least 35 years old and have lived in the U.S. for at least 14 years. He or she must be a “natural-born citizen”.
    • Imagine that you have the opportunity to amend the constitutional requirements for becoming president of the United States. Would you add or delete any requirements? If so, which ones?
