    • cancer in the course of a lifetime
    • Tanning beds increase your risk of getting

    • http://www.skincancer.org/Skin-Cancer-Facts/
  • 3. Hypothesis
    • My hypothesis for the reason why so many more people are getting skin cancer now is because more people are using tanning beds then ever before. And they tan more in the winter to get over seasonal depression.
  • 4. Survey
    • I would send out a questioner to get my information. I would ask;
    • How many times have you tanned in a tanning solon in your life?
    • If you do, do you tan more often in the winter?
    • Are you scared of getting skin cancer from using tanning beds?
    • Does tanning make you feel better about yourself?
    • I think this would be an easy way to ask a lot of people and they would not be pressured to say it to someone’s face.
  • 5. Facts
    • Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States. More than one million skin cancers are diagnosed annually.
    • One in five Americans will develop skin cancer in the course of a lifetime.
    • Nearly 30 million people tan indoors in the U.S. every year; 2.3 million of them are teens.
  • 6. More…
    • Frequent tanners using new high-pressure sunlamps may receive as much as 12 times the annual UVA dose compared to the dose they receive from sun exposure.
    • Pennsylvania leads the nation in number of professional tanning salons, with an estimated 1,525.
    • Most Americans, including up to 80% of people under age 25, think they look better with a tan.
